i'm on a sprint sgs3, non rooted, kitkat android, google now launcher. every time i reboot my phone, some apps move to the SD card storage. it's annoying because every time that happens, the shortcuts on my desktop disappear, and i have to add them back. when i had the regular touchwiz launcher, the same would happen, but instead of the shortcuts disappearing, they'd just loose their icons.

anyone know why this keeps happening and a work around? i'd prefer to change a setting somewhere within the device than having to download an extra app. i'm already confused/irritated as to why google decided to have a hangouts app and a hangouts dialer app when they could've/SHOULD'VE just integrated them both into one, like on iOS and Chrome.

So when it moves an app to SD, do you move it back to Phone Storage? If so, then does it still move back to SD when you reboot?

I think Google is still in the process of integrating Google Voice and Hangouts, so I suspect that in the near future, they'll come out with a revamped Hangouts app that does away with the need for a separate Hangouts Dialer app.

yes i move them back to phone storage, and after a reboot they go back to SD. i want my SD to be used ONLY for media, and phone storage for apps.

That's strange behavior. One thing to consider is to move all of the apps back to phone storage, then try swapping out the SD card with a different one to see if it's an SD issue.

My problem is other way around....it won't let me update my apps on sd card it will keep saying can't install or update program on sd card....... but once I move the program to phone it works fine and doesn't move back to SD card after I reboot... but I am using samsung Galaxy Note 3 with sprint...and using samsung sd card 32 gb as well....

Maybe try moving the apps to your phone, safely removing the SD, THEN reboot the phone? But try this on only one or two apps at first to see what happens. If there's no SD, then there's no SD for the app to go back to, right..?
And you do have enough storage space on your phone to carry those apps?
