Can anyone direct me to a feature on the Note 3 that would automatically insert a "1" (if one is not there) to make long distance calls when necessary? I don't want to have to put a 1 in front of every area code for each contact in my contact list.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have to enter the 1 in front of the area code? I was under the impression that cellphone calls don't require the 1. I don't have to on T-Mobile.

It may be a carrier issue. I am in Canada with Rogers as the carrier. However, I didn't have the problem with my old BlackBerry on Rogers. Strange!

Have you called Rogers about it? Maybe they have a quick fix.

Yes....tried Rogers......no luck there. They say it is a device issue and there must be a setting to adjust. I know BlackBerry had a such a setting to avoid putting "1" in front of your Contact numbers when dialing long distance.

See if there is a Settings>Call>Auto Area Code menu, as mentioned in this guide (search the page for the word "prefix"). Device > Online Guide for Galaxy Note 3 > AllAboutGalaxyNote.com
