Why is my Galaxy Note 4 showing as Connected as Installer?

Galaxy Note 4 "Connected as Installer"

My Galaxy Note 4 is cycling between Media Device (MTP) and Camera (PTP) when plugged into the USB port on my car stereo. I only use the USB connection for charging because I use bluetooth for connecting. It doesn't matter which device I check in the dialog box it just keeps cycling between them every 30 seconds or so. I've seen fixes for other phones but the menu choices in Kit Kat don't match up so I'm not able to try them.

Since you don't use the data connection, it shouldn't matter.

But you can get a USB power cable (the type that comes with things like wireless headsets) that has only the power wires, so the phone won't know that it's connected to a USB port, it'll think it's connected to a charger.

Or just get a USB charger to plug into the car's accessory socket (what used to be called the lighter socket).
