How can I move apps from my Xtreamer Q phone memory to SD?

I was told I first need to have root permissions on the device. Does anyone if I do, and if I do how to do this? I have Android version 4.2.1

No, you don't.

Settings/General/Application manager.

Go to each app you want to move, press it and look for the Move to SD button. If it's enabled, press it.

Some apps can be moved, some can't. Some that can, won't run if they are. (Some developers know what they're doing, some don't.)
