I'm looking for anyone's opinion on this tablet:

I'm not familiar with Android that much. I'm a Windows guy This is a gift. It will be used for web browsing (multiple tabs open), netflix, email, not a lot of games).

My concerns are as follows:
1) never heard of nuvision? are they a good company? do they update their devices?
2)are they good enough specs to run android? (do you think it would lag?)
3) is the price good for what they are offering?

Thanks in advance for responding!

1. No idea, never heard of them.
2. It's not horrible but it's by no means good.
3. No. I mean, that's up to you, but no.

When you're talking about a $400 tablet (yes I know it's $100 off), there are much much better options in performance and many of them are cheaper. Specifically: 1. Nvidia Shield Tablet - there's nothing better out there, though it is smaller. 2. iPad Air 2 3. iPad Mini Retina whatever 4. Nexus 9 5. Nexus 7 (2013) and 5. Microsoft Surface 2 (gimped as it is, it's still likely to be better).

If the person isn't a tech enthusiast they may not know the difference between this and a solid competitor and they may enjoy it. I personally wouldn't buy this for anyone at $50, let alone $300 or $400 (at $50 the extra $75 for a Nexus is well worth it) - and if someone bought it for me I'd be rather hurt that they don't know me at all.

I feel like I'm being too harsh on this tablet, but I'm disappointed that 11,000 people have purchased it - this is part of what gives Android a bad name.

Andrew said it more elgantly: Please don't buy a cheap tablet on Black Friday | Android Central
