why does the photo come out dark when I use the flash with the self timer on the Samsung galaxy s4?

It lIke the flash of light comes first, then the countdown to take the pgoto starts. It should be the flash of light as the countdown ends and the photo is about to be taken. Please help

Welcome to Android Central! Sometimes the flash turns on to help with rangefinding. Is the flash set to forced flash or automatic flash? To be sure, try it with forced flash.
