When I try to go into people, I get "Unfortunately, people has stopped"

What can I do? I have already tried stopping sync & restarting Sync.

Welcome to Android Central! What phone? Does this persist after a reboot? If you tell us which phone you have, we can suggest a cache partition wipe procedure.
