My Cloud contacts backup failed, how can I get it to work?

Cloud contacts backup failed ... Help

How do I fix? I'm losing certain contacts on my Android that synced to my Gmail account and then getting duplicates/triplicates of others

1) Make sure all your contacts are Google contacts, not Phone, Device or SIM contacts. (If they aren't, you can change them with MyPhoneExplorer. Copy and paste a contact. The pasted one can have the Type changed. (Then delete the original.)

2) Go to Google Contacts, More, and merge duplicates.
