How do I move the device storage?

Unable to move to device storage

Hi everyone,

I think I have a corrupt SD card in my S4 and want to take it out. The only problem is two of my apps seem to have data stored in both device storage and SD card. When I try to move them to device it says unable to move app. I have 3.3 GB available storage on my phone.

Has anyone else had this problem or know how to fix it? One of the apps is a game and I will lose all my data if I delete it so was really hoping not to - it's 164MB so would definitely fit in device storage. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Re: Unable to move to device storage

If the card is corrupted, the data can't be read, so it can't be moved.

The SD card should only be used to store data - files, pictures, music, videos, etc., and they should always be backed up to at least 2 other places, like your PC and a cloud account. Then you can't lose anything.

Since Android was never designed to run apps from the SD card, you shouldn't. (Some apps are constantly writing data - that chews up an SD card fast, it doesn't have the same properties as internal storage.)
