How do I stop the Yahoo failed to sync notification?

I keep getting notification that "Yahoo sync login failed" "Click here to correct the password." I click and get "Sorry, we are unable to connect to the internet." I do not have a Yahoo app installed on my Samsung Alpha. When I got the phone Yahoo was one of the "Quick Access" icons, but I deleted it.

It may have yahoo installed for other services like weather and news.

Try going to General - Accounts - Yahoo (if there) and with master Sync on, uncheck any boxes.
