Why won't my Note 4 let me close tabs, just add on default in the browser?

my note 4 wont let me close tabs just add on default int browser

ive deleted all form data and cookies etc. and these tabs stay up. ive pressed on the "-" but all that does is tell me to press "+" to add a tab.. when i do that it just takes me to the page i was just on.. im getting extremly frustrated. help please

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain you're tapping the "-" precisely? If it's really finicky, it might think you're tapping outside of the "-" symbol, and therefore think you're trying to add a tab. Try tapping it with a stylus.

I've used the stylus as well and it doesn't close. Now I have 10 open pages. Please help.

Go to setting > Developer options > Input and uncheck show touches.

I am having the same problem and its driving me nuts. Cant close with finger or stylus. Grrrr

Mine does the same. I can only use the most recent tab. Also, I can't make bookmarks! Chrome is acting the same way. I'm going crazy!

Go to settings in Chrome turn off combine tabs, it will restart chrome and you should be able to tap on the number box and swipe away the tab.

Thanks, itguyjax8430. That took care of the tabs problem in Chrome, but I still can't find any bookmarks that I make.

You might need go in to the chrome settings to turn off home page mode as well. Once you do that you should have two options at the bottom of Chrome when you open it.

I've performed the steps recommended in this forum, but they didn't help. The problem is not with my Chrome browser, but with the browser that comes with the phone. Any other suggestions?

Hope you had a good vacation. I'm still learning this site, so I may have posted this in another area, but I've tried all the suggestions posted on this forum and they haven't helped. The problem is not with my Chrome browser, but with the browser that comes with the phone, the one that is labeled "Internet." Any other suggestions?

I had the same problem. Go to settings > developer options> uncheck 'allow mock locations'. That worked on my galaxy s5. Hope that helps!

I turned off Developer Options, and presto!, the tabs in the native browser work again. Thanks!

Welcome to Android Central! They recently removed the Merge Tabs and Apps option from Chrome.

To get Developer Options, go to Settings>About Phone​, and tap Build Number 7 times.

I have a Note 3 and was having the same problem...went to developer options and scrolled down to the section titled apps. where there's an option that says:
Do not keep activities
(clear every activity as soon as user leaves it). aAs illogical as it might sound, UN-checking this box fix the problem for me and now the blue and white globe internet icon works the way it used to
