How do I remove photos from my Galaxy S5 but still keep them on my Google Plus site?

I'm using 5GB to store photos on my phone. I don;t need them on my phone. i want them stored online. How do i get them to stay online and delete them from my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! If you're using the Gallery app, go to the album that represents your Camera Roll, and delete the photo there. The backup should remain in the cloud.

If you're using the Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon), then swipe in from the left, tap On Device, and delete the photo there. Don't delete it in the All or Highlights screen, because that will delete the photo everywhere it exists.
