After lollipop, why are my incoming texts missing the first letter?

I have a Sprint S5, and updated to lollipop (5.0) on Sunday. After that, whenever I get a text message over 160 characters, the first character in the text message is truncated. The rest of the message is delivered fine. This happens both in the stock Messages application and in Textra. Messages under 160 characters are fine.

Bring the phone into a Sprint comany store (not a privately-owned store with a Sprint logo on the front). Ask them to please fix the damage their update caused. (They broke the phone by sending you an update, they're responsible for it.) They can easily sent you a 200 character text to verify that there's a problem.
