Where are downloaded PDF files?

I asked Google a question and let the browser show several web sites. I clicked on one which had a PDF and got it downloaded. The download showed up in the status bar and i dragged down to see the notification. I tapped on the notification and the PDF opened in Moon+ (which I have found to be the best app for readability of PDFs on the DROID4 screen).
Now I want to delete the PDF, but I don't know where it is. I used ES File Explorer to find the file, but I still don't know where it is. I tried the Download app and it said there were no downloads.

Using ES File Explorer, go to the Downloads directory (the full name of the directory is /storage/sdcard0/Download or /storage/emulated/0/Download). Is it there?

Which browser are you using? Some 3rd party browsers might use their own download directory to save to, not the main system's Downloads directory.
