the camera comes on when it's locked and in my pocket. Also, I can put my finger on the screen and shake the phone and the camera comes on as well I want this function turned off

Welcome to Android Central!

Try going in to settings, application manager, all applications, go to the camera app and clear the data from the app. That should reset the app and may fix the issue.
