My Samsung Galaxy s6edge is stuck during setup mode, how would I fix this?

I had to factory reset my android device considering it wouldn't update tot he newest update of lollipop. So after I reset, I get the usual language setup screen blah blah blah. Then its the setup email excluding G-mail. then it sends me right of to checking for updates without letting me connect to WiFi. Using up my absolutely abysmal service where I am as I'm typing this its been checking for updates for the past 2 1/2 hours.. Anybody have a fix to this? I feel as if my phone is now rendered useless.
