How do I bypass a frozen unlock pattern screen?

My Galaxy S3 is frozen on the unlock pattern screen. I am unable to draw my unlock pattern - it does not respond when I try. I have tried the recovery mode start option twice but still frozen.

Try removing the battery for a few minutes, then replace.
