Is there any possible way to install apps from the google play website onto a chromebook?

AC Question

Hi there! I have an Acer C720 11" chromebook. I love it, except that I haven't been able to download some apps from the google play website to my chromebook. I know you can get apps from the chrome web store, but there is a very limited selection. Am I doing something wrong, or is it not possible to download google play apps? I would even try some unorthodox ways of downloading the apps if I have to. Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! There is no official way to install an Android app from the Google Play Store to Chrome OS--you have to search for the Android apps that are made available in the Chrome OS Web Store. However, there is a workaround: Here's how to run Android apps on Chrome with Google's new tool | PCWorld. This requires you to find apk files, which can be a bit risky, since sites that have apk files may also have malware. Besides that, they may also have pirated apps.
