AC Question

My Nexus 5 smartphone was connected to my laptop while I was uploading and deleting photos. When my laptop froze so did my phone. Initially the screen was black as though turned off. No response when I plugged it in to charge. After a couple of minutes the screen came on to the view if I press the power button to wake up the phone but haven't unlocked it.
Now it is frozen on this screen and I can't even turn it off. I also can't seem to get access to the battery to take that out.
Please please help ASAP! I'm on a flight early in the morning and need it to check-in, contact various people, etc.

The Nexus 5 doesn't have a removable battery, so definitely don't try that!

You can hard reboot the phone by holding the power and volume down buttons for 10 seconds.
