Screen lock reverted to password protected and I never set up a password
Galaxy S4 was set to a swipe lock, but it changed to a password protected and I never have set up a password, typed in everything I could think of... Help!
Re: Screen lock reverted to password protected and I never set up a password
Hello. Welcome to Android Central.
That should not happen. Could someone have tampered without you knowing.
Did you install any security or cleaning apps.
Often if you enter incorrectly enough times, it will ask for a username and password, which means your Gmail address in ful and it's password. It would say try again after 30 seconds several times. Be careful if it warns the next failure will reset the device, but if you get 30 second delays, it shouldn't.
What used to always work, but less so recently, is putting a new lock with a new pin with the Lock setting on Android Device Manager. As you have an older S4 it may stll work. People have reported a message now appears saying a lock already set.

Clean Master may have let you unknowingly include their lock screen apps.
Cheetah are a bummer of a company. Ask many here. You can try their support via their Play Store page on a pc.
Try the other options above as well.
