My charger is getting too hot it's burning my hand everytime I touch it. Is this normal?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6, I just got it a week ago. For some odd reason when I connect the charger to it, it gets extremely hot. Is this normal, will it mess up my phone does anyone have any suggestions I need some help and its not just the outlet. It seems to do it everytime I connect it with the phone. It doesn't even take a full 30 seconds for it to get this hot. Any help?

Welcome to Android Central! Is this the quick charger that came with the phone? Quick charging can generate more heat in the plug than a normal charger, but it shouldn't be enough to harm you. If it's really that hot, I'd bring it to back to the store and ask for a replacement charger--it could be a potential fire hazard. You could demonstrate how hot it gets at the store.
