If I Switch Carriers From Verizon To T-Mobile Will The VZ Protection Still Work?

I have recently switched carriers from Verizon to T-Mobile but kept my Verizon Galaxy S5. I am new to all this detailed cell phone stuff. Only knew how to use them before but have learned a lot from making the switch. I had to change this setting and add that setting. But I still have VZ Protection on my phone. Does the Verizon Protection work even though I switched to T-Mobile service? I put the AVG app on my phone but I think it kept kicking me off WiFi for some reason. Continually had to keep resetting the date/time. If the Verizon Protection does not work does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do to protect my phone? Thanks for any help in advance.
