Why is it when I plug in my headphones into my boost mobile the sound doesn't work?

Hi, so the thing is without headphones - the kind that goes into the ear - the sound that comes out of my boost mobile is normal. But with the headphones the sound doesn't work and the backing track of songs sound louder than the singer singing. There is also some kind of noise, like a buzzing when I plug them in. I have tried it with other headphones and they do the same. But when i plugged in my headphones - the kind where it goes around your head - it works perfectly and the sound is normal. Someone please tell me what's going on
