I have a Lenovo V603 with 4.4.3 which has been compromised. I would like to save the phone but it needs an operating system. I can access the factory menu although it's in
Chinese. It would be nice if I could replace the present one with another through a pc or a sd card. Does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks

The only way to change OS is to root the device. You cannot just put a card in our plug into a pc and wipe the memory and start over. If you're willing to factory reset the device you should be able to reset it to English. First thing is to boot into recovery. Google will help you with this. Then Google images of your make and models recovery screen. English, Chinese, French shouldn't matter, the location of each selection should be the same. So if factory reset is three clicks down in English it should be three clicks down in Chinese, you can't change the language of a button. When it's finished you can pick your language. If you're really unsure and insist on knowing what each selection I'd use the Google Translate camera feature, from a different device of course, to look at the screen and it will translate each selection.

Then might I suggest XDA Developers. They are all about rooting and solving issues like these, more so than what you might find here.
