AC Question

This has happened once before and I got no help and was forced to deleted the corrupted images. Eventually the problem stopped after I cleared the data/cache of my Gallery app, but the issue seems to be back. Now a ton of important images and videos are replaced with a black box with a gray photo in the middle and an exclamation point.

I don't know why this is happening. Sometimes when I transfer images/videos to the albums in my Gallery app which have been transferred to my SD card months ago, the image/video becomes corrupted.

I checked the SD card and everything seemed fine, but now I JUST want my images and videos back.

Is there anyway to get them?

ZAR seemed to be very, very, VERY slow and I'm not sure if I know how that works.

Please, help!

(I'm not too tech savvy, so please be patient.)

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone do you have? Can you clarify--are these photos saving by default to the microSD card? SD cards can become corrupt, and they can also be defective or counterfeit. This can lead to corrupted photos. Do they ever get corrupted if you save them by default to Internal Storage?

Run SD Insight to make sure the card isn't counterfeit. If it checks out, then Unmount it (in Settings>Storage), remove it, and insert it into your computer. Then run chkdsk to look for bad sectors. http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...guide-using-chkdsk-fix-corrupted-sd-card.html
