Unable to move apps to SD card even when formatted as internal storage

[AC Question]

I'm using an Android One device running Android 6.0.1 (Micromax Canvas A1). I have formatted the SD card as internal storage.

However, most of the apps use up the space in actual internal storage and I'm unable to even move them to the SD card formatted as internal.

In older versions of Android I could move certain apps to SD card anyway, so what is the point in formatting it as internal storage? What am I missing?
