Why are my photos disappearing after I edit them?

All of the sudden on my LG G3, when I go to edit a photo, it doesn't save to my gallery and just disappears. I will crop it, rotate it, etc.. And then hit 'done' and normally it will save that new version, but instead all I am left with is the original and the new one disappears.

Hmmm....see whether it works okay in Safe Mode.
Also, it may be worth clearing the Cached Data in Storage, followed by a Power Off and Restart of the phone.
