How can I get my DRM protected itunes audio purchases into Google Play Music?

On advice from my Samsung dealer I have pointed my Google Play Music account at the itunes media folder to transfer my purchases and enable me to listen to them on my android devices.

However, only some of the music is transferring, and I believe that is only my more recent, non-DRM audio purchases. I have a fair bit of DRM audio that I resent not being able to hear any more, except on my laptop or my 10 year old (and on its way out) iPod Classic.

Can anyone advise please?
