I just upgraded from the Moto G 1st Gen to the Moto X Play. The G was a great phone, but as I went along it slowed down to an embarrassing point. I would really like to prevent this with my X. My goal is to get at least 2 years service from my Moto X Play before upgrading. What do you think -- stop updating apps in the hopes of preserving performance, or keep updating as available? Thank you!

    If it ain't broken...

To give you an idea of what I think about updates... My Note 4 and Note 10.1 2014 both run Kitkat. All my computers and laptops still run WinXP. It's not because I can't afford newer computers with the latest and greatest OS's, but because WinXP is a very capable OS and "performance" is way more important to me than fluff!
