Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 - screen backlight not coming back after screen timeout

Hi.

I have a strange problem that started a few weeks ago.

The tablet is fine when I restart it, i.e. I can see the screen and use it perfectly, i.e. all works perfectly until I don't use it until the screen timeout (I just set it at 10 minutes).

Somehow the backlight from my screen doesn't light up after going in "sleep"/screen timeout mode. I know that the tablet is fine cause I can see the login screen if I put the tablet in front of a light, i.e. I can see that it is working and the the display is fine. However even if I enter my password my tablet backlight doesn't light up.

It seems to be to be some form of software/OS issue more than a hardware issue. But I got no idea where to start or how to test this!

Hi,

Try entering recovery and wiping cache partition, probably not related, but worth a shot. This will not delete any data or change any settings.
