How to stop a download I didnt initiate on elipses 8

While browsing a website, I clicked a video and it seems the video or something else is now downloading to my elipses 8. When I hold the download in the drop down menu the only option is to view app info. I've been able to disable the download manager for a short time, but this is only a temporary fix because in a few minutes it starts downloading again. How can I delete or stop this download before it is complete, since I'm not even sure what it is? Is that possible?
