Why won't my screen detect I'm touching it?

My HTC Desire 526 got wet and I put it in rice overnight. This morning when I took it out of the rice it turned on but the touch screen isn't working. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

Take it to a repair shop.

Hi, I'm afraid Tim is correct. It would appear that a repair might be in order. However, if you can remove the battery. And try it again, in rice, overnight, it may come back. Though unlikely, I have seen it happen.

Forgot. Get a vacuum cleaner, with a small tip, then attach a straw to that end, using tape. Suck the ports and areas around the buttons, thoroughly, then try rice overnight again.
