can the samsung s7 edge fingerprint be bypassed??

I bought my S7 Edge back in April, absoullutely loved it. Then, 6 days ago, i went to Jack In The Box and left it on the counter. When I realized i didnt have my phone, i went back and asked if they had found my phone. Of coarse everyone said no. I have been watching Android Device Manager and its hasnt been active since that night. Is there some other way I can track my phone?? I paid $895 cash for it. No Insurance either.
Someone had told me you can track it by the IMEI number. Is that true?? I just want my dam phone back.....please someone can you help me??
