Why is my battery drawning when is charging

I just got my galaxy7 edge yesturday i put it to charge over night and it only charge 35% and i been charging it all morning and is burly 57% is it something wrong with it or it just takes longer becouse is a new phone ?

The USB lead may be bad, among other possibilities. Check that first.

Are you using the supplied charger and cord?
