AC Question

For the past few weeks whenever I have tried to use Google maps on my S6, it struggles to plan my route.

I have the GPS, WIFI, Mobile Data location button selected and my GPS seems to be working fine with other apps.

When using Google maps the screen seems to take ages to plan my route and often comes up with the message "unable to connect to maps try again later". Often if I have google maps working it then struggles to 're-route' should I chose to go a different way as to that suggested.

Can anyone help me with this as it's not an app I can re-install.

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data? Are you having problems with other Google apps, like Gmail or Calendar?

Actually yes, I had noticed that the 'map' function on the calendar was throwing up erroneous locations having entered specific postcodes (that worked fine on my desktop) I've taken to uninstalling all the updates, which seems to have fixed the problem. It's now finding routes very quickly. Maybe there's a bug in one of the updates?

But yes, to answer your question, it was happening with both WIFI and mobile data.

Did you also try clearing the cache and data from the Maps app in the App Manager? If not, try reupdating and doing that.
