What do I do after phone has been exposed to water

Well, don't turn it on to see if it works until you're sure it's well dried out. The rice trick will absorb some of the water. If the back comes off, take it off and dry the best you can, ditto with sim and sd card if you have one. And cross your fingers nothing got shorted out inside.... Good luck!

like Tim1954 said. the rice trick take the phone apart as much as possibile (if the battery is removable take it out) and place in ziplock bag full of rice for 48 hours (or longer if you'te patient enough)
