Samsung Galaxy 6 won't return to calendar from Tasks

[AC Question]

Was on Calendar app, checked my Tasks, deleted several , hit phone back button = nothing, still Tasks. Rebooted phone = still Tasks. Hit Off, left phone off for an hour, hopefully I hit my little apps icon, then the calendar icon= Tasks! no Calendar, no budging from Tasks.
And now, I am on my Wi-fi network, icon confirms, but Google query page insists I'm offline. grrr
