Lock screen won't timeout

When I hit either the lock button or the home button to open my phone and leave it on the lock screen, the screen won't shut off. What is causing it to NOT timeout. It's rather annoying to have to have to lock it manually every time

If you have set it up to time out perhaps an app is causing the issue. Boot the phone into safe mode and if the problem is resolved, it's down to an app. You will then need to establish which app it is and change its settings or uninstall. Your battery stats may give a clue as to which app it is.
