I have tried sending mails with attachment with both my laptop and mobile but gmail fails to send mails with attachment. The mail will be delivered without and a message pops up after that saying that couldn't send attachment, this is in the case when i use my phone i.e. Samsung Galaxy J2. And while sending it through laptop it says saving your attachment and the file stops at a point while uploading.
So what should i do so that i can send files. Please help me.

Check your internet connection. Also check the size of the file. Emails have a 20mb file size limit.

What kind of file is it that you tried to attach? Gmail limits the types of attachment and doesn't let you attach executable files, like files ending in .exe. If you try to attach an executable file, you'll see the message "Blocked for security reasons."

Please check if anything on this page helps you: https://support.google.com/mail/answ...DDesktop&hl=en

There could be many reasons that caused the problem. Could you please reply and post any screenshots of the problems?

Ok, so I am having the exact same issue. I am sending out emails as always but the attachments do not stay attached! It is not a size issue not a connection problem and this was never the case in the past. I believe it is due to a recent update. Oddly enough if I send and email with NO text, but just the attachment it will send out. So unfortunately now I have to send 2 emails, one with the info & text, the other with the attachment. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have the exact same problem with my Samsung S7 Edge. I've had this phone since October of 2017 and I've never had a problem sending attachments until about two weeks ago. File sizes (small) or internet connection (wifi) cannot be causing this, so what IS?

I manage support calls for an app that creates a PDF file and allows the user to email it to their customers, we have been receiving several calls about the pdfs not sending recently (they started coming in probably 2-3 weeks ago) it shows the attachment on the email in the users sent folder, but the recipient isn't seeing an attachment. If anyone knows a solution, or at least the cause, any help would be appreciated.

I remember when google wss a useful search engine. No longer. Thanks to its ridicilously transparent SEO and greed.

The fix i used was to cease using gmail.

    Hi,

My dad has the same problem with Samsung. He could not send mails from Gmail app with attachment, system just waitlisted them. I deleted all of his history from chrome including cookies, that has solved the problem. I guess he had some malwares.

    Regards,

I have tried, and the best way is to log into Google.com, and then sign into your email account and try sending the attached files that way. Sign in via Chrome web browser on the device.

    Hope this helps.

    kind regards

I have the same issue with my new pixel 3. i.e. when I try to forward an email with an attached file (like a pdf) the attachment is not included. I noticed if I forward emails with pictures the images to get forwarded.

I am going to do a complete reset on the phone to see if that works.

I did notice that if I installed Google Inbox email client that it worked fine and forwarded the attachments as expected.
