When I try to download a movie from Play Movies it only wants to downlaod to external storage

I have a motorola g4. I had originally set Play movies to store on the external memory (SD card), then I set the micro SDcard to internal memory. Now Play movies wont let me change the setting to down load to 'internal ' memory

Welcome to Android Central! It's because the phone now considers everything as Internal Storage. That's what formatting the SD card as Internal Storage (i.e., Adoptable Storage) means.
