Why is my messaging app force closing?

I got a new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro, all was great until the messaging app kept crashing on opening one day, no notification, no nothing, I've cleared the cache, cleared the data, and then XiaoMi do a smart thing and remove Safe Mode from it! WHAT DO I DO NOW?

Welcome to the forums. You could try force stopping the app, and restarting it. Or you could try another text app. Google Messenger and Textra are popular
