Battery at 1 percent when charging randomly shuts off

So I hope I'm not the only person with this problem. So, I use my tablet a lot. It's a Nexus Asus 2013 (I think). But when it's low battery and I charge it (Like 1 percent) It randomly shows the shut down thing and shows that it isn't charging when the cord is connected. I take the cord out and plug it in again and it shows it's charging! This is getting really annoying and I've been thinking about getting a new tablet or IPhone. Ps, I change the charger with a couple of new ones and the same thing happens.

It may be that heavy discharging, if that has been your routine, has damaged the battery. Take a look at this:
