AC Question

I own an LG G4 and I currently do not have it hooked up to any carrier and I am wondering if that is why I can't update. I have Android version 6.0 and the LG website is telling me the latest update is Android Marshmallow. Anything I can do about this? Another problem I am having is the fact that I can't change the clock style on my lock screen. I am not sure if this is because I don't have the latest software or what the deal is. Please help.

Version 6.0 is Marshmallow. :)

If you have no clock style options, try another clock app from the Play Store.

Welcome to Android Central! A system update is not as simple as getting an "APK link." APK files are installer files that install an app, not an entire system update.

If your phone is carrier specific (e.g., it's a G4 that was originally sold by Verizon), then the phone has to be on that network in order to receive official system updates.

+1 for B. Diddy post. This is all due to the fact that model numbers differ from carrier to carrier and Android builds differ from carrier to carrier. Your model number is tied to your serial number and updates go out by serial number batches IIRC.
