SGH-I717 Screen doesnt work

[AC Question]

My SGH-I717 is acting up. The thing will power on, but the screen stays black. The home button and all of those will light up if I unlock it and they go out if I unlock it. If I touch the screen, the buttons light back up. Any help?

This is an update of my previous post, as I was wrong that it didnt work, it did.

Welcome to Android Central! It'd be best if you registered on this forum so that you can continue the thread you previously started. Otherwise, it'll be difficult to have any kind of ongoing discussion.

Chances are that your screen has failed, which isn't too surprising, considering how old that device is (original Galaxy Note). Bring it to a repair shop, if keeping that device is important. Otherwise, it might be time to get a new, more current phone.
