My tablet (with Marshmellow OS) does not read a standard flash drive.

Read all the other comments around someone else's issues. Tried Nexus Media Reader, have a supposed USB to OTG cable. The drive lights up for a second when first connected but is never recognized. I've tried other readers but no go.... any ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! Which tablet? It might not support OTG.
