Why my Note4 screen is dark

[AC Question]

My nephew in Australia had this Galaxy Note 4. He went out in rain and after that the phone has a dark screen. If I press the power switch the phone vibrates. After sometime there is a little jingle and then the notification light turns blue the back and forward sign at the bottom of the flashes instantly and then the notification light goes off. The screen is dark all throughout. What could be the problem?
