Battery dies and drains while charging

First of all let me start by saying I am a real estate agent so I use my phone a lot. And I mean a lot! My battery is usually dead by noon and I can usually charge it back up to survive the rest of the day. However recently when I charge my phone the battery drains while it's charging. The other day it charged for two hours and the battery barely gained any strength. Yesterday it was charging and I was texting and calling people and it eventually died on me. The battery dies pretty quickly these days and I'm to the point I can't even bring my phone inside a house I'm showing because it will just die. It's so embarrassing! Is there anything to fix the phone or is it just time for an upgrade?
