Blue Light, cycling galaxy note 5, Data retrieval ?

When using my galaxy note 5, screen went black, and the phone started cycling on and off. I came to this forum and went through the options for safe mode, normal, force shut down (did not try factory reset). All the while the blue light.... Only power down stopped the cycling. I let it charge overnight. Same issues. Fearing the worst, is there a chance I could retrieve data (music/photos)? There was no damage, no water: only a WTH when using it. Thanks.

I believe I know the answer to this question as I make my way to Verizon to utilize my protection plan. 8' [
