Using secure folder feature on Galaxy S8, I accidentally moved a folder with a name beginning with a dot (.myfolder) to secure folder. The screen came up showing the folder being transferred. However, when I go into secure folder, my folder is nowhere to be found. Can anyone help me locate this folder?

Thanks!

What file explorer are you using? When you lock or encrypt files on the android OS, apps outside of the locker or encrypter cannot access them, and while they are reckognized as valid data, they are also inaccessable by some apps. Apps other than the secure folder are not capable of accessing, reading, or decrypting the folder's files. This will cause other apps like file explorers to say the contents are corrupt, incompatible, or simply cannot be read. This is a large down-side to security apps like the secure folder, as they are often times the only app that can access their contents. Adding a decimal to a directory's name hides it from other apps like Gallery as well, or alternitavely creating a blank file named ".NoMedia".
