Photos missing from phone after synchronizing to country's timezone

[AC Question]

Hi guys really hope someone had experienced something like this before and could give any slight solutions or answer.

I was taking photos at The Leaning Tower of Pisa then i went over to a nearby MacDonald's to use the WiFi. Upon connecting my phone prompted if i wanted to sync to the timezone in Italy( btw I am from Singapore). So i changed to the timezone and my photos that i just took all went missing.

Any idea what happen and any way to retrieve those photos back?

Welcome to Android Central! Use your file manager app to look in the /DCIM/Camera directory -- do you still see the photo files there?
